Our Programs
Presbyterian Women: The Presbyterian Women is divided into three circles; The Day Circle, Shirley Watson Circle, and Circle of Friends. Each meets monthly for fellowship and Bible study. They take pride in making quilts for our Harvest Sale every year, as well as making desserts, chicken and dumplings and jams and jellies. They also support several missions, including Children’s Hope Alliance by providing gifts at Christmas, and school supplies to the children in foster care.
Presbyterian Men: The Men of the church gather on Sunday morning a month with breakfast and Bible study. They also provide all the BBQ and sides for our annual Harvest Sale. The men have a dinner once a year, where the proceeds go towards local missions, including the CUOC.
Youth Group: Our youth group meets every Sunday night for Bible Study. Once a month they make care packages and visit our shut-ins. They also support local missions by raising money and make crafts for our annual Harvest Sale.
Our History
In 1859, White Hill, along with Buffalo, Cypress, Union and Euphronia churches, held Sunday School in a one room building called the “Cross Road Church and School”. They had worship services when a Methodist or Presbyterian rider came through the area. In 1871 a Masonic Lodge was built in the same area. Worship services were then moved to the Masonic Lodge. In 1881, White Hill Presbyterian Church was ordained with an enrollment of 42 members from Union, Buffalo and Euphronia churches. The congregation grew and a new building was needed. The new building was completed April 1890. It was built right next to the Masonic Lodge. In 1950, eight rooms were added to the back of the church and a vestibule in the front. In 1954, remodeling began of the sanctuary, adding stained glass windows, and the church was bricked. New pews and pulpit furniture were installed in 1956. This is the current church structure now. The fellowship hall was constructed in 1960. The Masonic Lodge served as a manse until 1968. A new manse was built in 1969, currently used today.
